I want to install flap sensors in my Rv-7. What types have been used and how are they installed?

thanks in advance,

We basically need a variable resistance as an input. The Ray Allen position sensors, seen on this page - http://www.rayallencompany.com/products/indsens.html - reportedly work well. They are basically linear potentiometers (variable resistors).

I recently built a flap sensor in my RV-8 using a round potentiometer which I installed an arm onto the shaft. Then I connected a stiff wire (piano hinge wire, actually) down to the end of the flap actuator. Did you ever get your system working? If not, I can send you some photos of how it worked out in my RV-8. Of course, your geometry is different in the 7 so it may need some more engineering. But mine is working great, so if you need some more ideas, give me a shout.
