I’m new to dynon, just bought a plane that has the full dynon skyview with auto pilot. So far it really is nice, but one feature that I really miss from my old garmin 496, is flight log capability. It seems hard to believe that an avionics system with this many features and capabilities does not have such a simple function. I mean it can’t be that complicated since my 10 year old 496 had it. To be honest I would probably install garmin stuff based on this one feature alone. I checked with dynon and they said I should talk to their folks at Oshkosh. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it this year. So I was wondering what the user interest is for this feature. If there is enough, maybe we can convince dynon to do an upgrade.

You can tell the system to display an Air Time value. The system has this as a Data option in the EMS setup. It will show your last flight time at start up and remain that until you pass about 20 knots of groundspeed which causes it to reset to zero during takeoff roll. Mine is displayed between the manifold pressure and the Hobbs in the upper left portion of the EMS on the picture below. Airborne for 42 minutes at this point.

Thanks I’ll give that a try. Still not as handy as the garmin though
