You guys mentioned recently that you were looking at a flight planning function.

Perhaps you can include a feature, the lack of which really bugs me about my GTN 750.

If I am planning a flight, the things I want to know, before I commit aviation, are my true and magnetic heading, my groundspeed, how long it is going to take to get there, and how much fuel I need to carry, to avoid a short and embarrasing period of silent flight.

All of that depends on the forecast wind, which the GTN 750 has no facility whatsoever to enter. Thus, while it is fine once it is airborne and can gain info from GPS, as a pre-flight navigation aid it is less effective than a $20 E6B

I have a free app on my smartphone which can work out a wind triangle, so it is certainly not beyond the wit of man to program that functionality and apply it to the known track between waypoints, rather than having to sit and nut it out by WW2 methods.

I think we already discussed fuel planning, but a function which allows us to estimate fuel remaining at waypoints and to calculate that from fuel to be added enroute would also be a useful function, which, quite frankly, the GTN750 does not do well at all.

There! Rant over, I feel so much better now!
