My Dynon 180 was installed by an """""expert"""" 2 years ago. The aircraft, an Osprey homebuilt (engine is a O320 Lycoming} is finally ready for initial test flying but I am having problems with the RPM readout. It seems to be normal at idle but under reads at anything over 1000 RPM. When doing a mag check the left mag reading is all over the map jumping between 500 and 2000 while the engine RPM appears to be constant. The right mag readout is consistent but to low.
On both reading seems to be way lower than actual.

I am not a mechanic and the only one on the field will not work on Dynons as he has no experience

Can anyone give me a suggestion. Is there an installation manual available on the Dynon site. I cant seem to find it

Thanks in advance for any help

Download the installation manual and read about setting up the sensors, and the TACH.

If you go to setup/sensors and TACH you can set the number of pulses per rev. This is most likely set at 2 or 3 or something, and it may need to be 1.5

Depends on your number of cylinders.

It should be easy to fix once you read that and try it. ;)
