Floscan sender

Flowscan fuel flow sender installation has not gone as smooth as all else.

I installed the sender unit in the un-pressured section of the fuel line. Configured it 'on' and set the proper K-value

Upon power up and engine run it read zero.

I checked the wiring. EMS pins 13 (gnd), 14 (signal), 15(power). I saw no power on the pin 15 (red) wire - was expecting 12V. To ensure that I did not mix up the red wire with some other red wire, I took off the EMS back connector and powered the unit with power and ground discrete leads using crimp sockets to slide on the pins of the unit's connectors. I then checked the power output pin for the fuel flow sensor (pin 15). It read zero volts. Interestingly enough the signal pin (pin 14) read ~4 volts. Note in all this testing I had the sender unit disconnected.

Am I missing something?

It sounds like the power output from the EMS may have blown its internal fuse. You should read at least 12V on pin 15 when the EMS is turned on. Pin 14 reading 4 Volts is normal, but pin 15 reading 0 is definitely suspicious.

Please give us a call at 425-402-0433 and we'll figure out the best way to proceed.

Just wanted to let you know that I received the reworked EMS unit last Friday and is installed and all is working flawless - including the fuel flow meter.

As of yesterday, both my EFIS and EMS are fully operational.

Thanks a bundle. You folks have great tech. support!
