Fluctuating / failing MAP readings......

We have a D10a fitted to a Superior IO 360 with vp prop. We have just returned to service after significant engine bay and rewiring works. From the first post works test flight, we have had a fluctuating MAP reading, which peaked at the expected engine setting, but would drop part or all the way off the scale. Now the MAP reading seams to spend more time inop than reading anything at all. I suspect the answer to our problem is a loose connection / damaged sender, however, before we pull off the covers can you comment?

See http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1138881119/1#1 for a solution to MAP fluctuations that are caused by actual pulses in the manifold pressure that our units can't damp out digitally.

When you say "inop", do you mean that it goes offscale high or low at times? Or are you referring to the fluctuations themselves?

Inop...off the bottom scale.
This set up has been working fine for 100+ hours so unless you suggest otherwise, I wouldn't expect that the filters / buffers need to be installed?

Right. If it didn't need it before, there's no reason it would need that now. In this case, you'll want to look at the wiring to the sender.
