After installing the latest firmware on my dual SkyView Classics Touch displays, I began getting warnings that engine RPM was too high. Looking at the display it was jumping quickly up and down from 4800 to 5200+. I did have a battery that was old (and not holding a charge), so I replaced it hoping it would fix the problem.
Today I took the plane back up and got the same result after flying for about 10 minutes ("warning engine speed"). I also received a warning at the same time ("warning oil pressure") that oil pressure was low (or high), not sure which. The warning got my attention and I turned back to the airport. When looking at the display the oil pressure was normal, but the voice warning sent a chill down my spine.
My A&P did check over the engine and found nothing loose and suspects the engine is fine.
I did download the Dynon data to a flash drive, but I'm not sure where to go from here. The displays were installed in 2016.
