I normally would not use this forum for this problem but in case I am not the only Skyview driver that is using Seattle Fly-Q. I would recommend that you DO NOT UPDATE TO VERSION 3.0

I updated to FLY Q EFB 3.0 and flew with it for the 1st time. It will lock up or abort immediately when it connects to SKYVIEW. If I turn off Wi-FI to boots up and looks good but once I re-enable WiFi and it connects to DYNON SKYVIEW it immediately locks up or aborts. Any attempt to re-start FLY Q will abort immediately after the FLY Q flash screen.

I have sent an e-mail to Seattle Avionics regarding this problem. Waiting to hear back from them.

I am using a 5th Gen Apple I-Pad (MP2H2LL/A) running IOS version 11.2.5 with 128 GB of storage.

This is the reply I got from Seattle Avionics's Steve Podradchik:

"Hi Kurt. Yes we just became aware of this and have already fixed it for the next release. We did test the Dynon support before release but a change was made after the test that, unexpectedly, caused the problem. Love to get you as a beta tester to test th fix and, in the future, ensure this doesn’t happen again. "

Same problem as Kurt. Also, read Steve's replies to Kurt and he promises to have a fix out Monday or Tuesday. Hope so, my flight to FL is coming up Wednesday and I really would like my iPad working for the flight!

I received a response from Seattle Avionics yesterday. They have fixed the issue and anticipate having that release available in about a week.

TO ALL FLYQ EFB USER WITH DYNON or AFS SYSTEMS

You may have experienced a crash with FlyQ EFB when connecting it to a Dynon or AFS system via WiFi. We have a beta (test) release of FlyQ EFB 3.0.1 ready that addresses this issue. We’d be thrilled if you would agree to test it and confirm that the fix works. Here's how you can help . . .

For members of our TestFlight program
You should have the new beta available from the TestFlight app that you may already have installed from previous beta testing. If you don’t have TestFlight on your iPad or iPhone, search for and download it from the App Store icon on your iPad or iPhone.

For customers NOT on the TestFlight program
Prerelease apps are delivered to your device using Apple's TestFlight app. This allows developers to distribute software for testing and validation before releasing it to the general public. This is a innovation only program and your participation is optional.

To get started, open the Settings app and go to 'iTunes & App Store'. I need that email address so Apple can send you a invitation. Next go to the App Store app in install the TestFlight app form Apple.

When you get the invite from Apple, open invite and choose Start Testing button. Open TestFlight and FlyQ EFB should be available to install.

Who should I contact if I have questions or feedback?
Please send all inquiries to: BETA@seattleavionics.com

Thanks for your help and support!

I have been experiencing the same problems as stated above. It either locks up or aborts. No one has responded to my email. I talked to two different people at Seattle Avionics via phone about this problem. I was told the update would be available over the weekend or the following Monday at the latest. That was 10 days ago. Very frustrating.

I called Keith Russo using his mobile number from this thread several days ago and left a message. No response.

Anyone know the status?

There was a 3.01 released a couple weeks ago and another release this past weekend. I don't recall the version number. All of these a beta releases. None of the fixes have been released to production that I'm aware of at the moment.

I can share that the first beta release appears to have resolved my issue. I have the Dynon WiFi dongle on my AFS screens. I haven't tested the subsequent version as of yet.

I’ve been using FlyQ EFB with a sky view touch, and can’t get my ads-b weather to update flyq efb. Traffic seems to work fine, but not the weather. Seattle Avionics suggesting uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didn’t work. I’m using a iPad 10.5 pro 512gb with all the iOS and my sky view has all the latest software. Any ideas?
