Hello to all you New Zealanders,

My wife and I are planning to visit NZ in 2008. I am a Lancair flyer in the process of installing a D180, and if we love it there we are considering taking advantage of NZs' "Critical Skills" path to come down and work for a few years.

I've already spoken with several folks down there, including one of the reps of your version of the FAA who said flying my Lancair there would be no problem if I can get it there (easy - just take the wings off and stuff it in a shipping container).

However, I'm still interested in speaking to as many New Zealanders as possible before we travel there. We are shooting for your Springtime (Oct/Nov). If anyone here would be willing to spend some time chatting about flying in your lovely country with me (or anything else cool about NZ), just respond to this post or Skype me at Phantom_iie (what I flew in my "glory years"...).

Oh, for work I do IT consulting as a PM/BA/DBA/ anything but straight coding. Seems to be a lot of IT folk who are also into aviation...

Cheers,

Bill

if i can be of any help you can email me at
tecnam2003 at yahoo dot com.
i currently fly from the bay of islands aero club
http://www.freewebs.com/boiacnewsletter/....if you find my aircraft photo, you can see where lancair got their ideas from.
there is a large flying community here in NZ and regular fly-ins held during the summer.
the largest sport aviation fly-in is sport avex and will be held in tauranga in 2008.
