I am using a home made flap position sensor for my D120. I am using a 10K linear Potentiometer. I am feeding it 5VDC excitation at one end with grd on the other and taking the center tap to a GP input. My question is, can I use a frame ground to save some wire? Or will a dedicated run to a grd pin on the RS-232 connector give me a more reliable reading? I'm a little short on cable and could use the 7' that I have set up for this GRD.

Thanks,

Larry

If the frame is a good ground you will have no problems. I did this in two sensor applications and they work fine.

Yeah, we agree, the frame should be fine in this application.
