What would be the chance of including the CENTER frequencies that would relate to the area around an airport in the airport frequencies list?

It's on our list too, but it's hard. The databases don't relate center frequencies to airports, so we have to do a lot of work to figure out what center covers any specific spot on the earth. It's not like airport frequencies that in the database already attach the frequencies to a specific airport.

So someday, but it's not on the near term list.

Couldn't you simply use the Appr/Dep or Center frequency list on the associated approach plate? That would get any airport with an approach.

The approach plate is an image, not something a computer can read the text on. So that would mean we would have to go though thousands of approach plates by hand and type them in every month. Plus, we don't currently have the approach plates in the system anywhere, so we don't have that database right now anyway.

no idea were zephyrcharts (ipad offline frequencies (free)but now at a cost to remain current with the charts) gets them but that is one great feature they offer that I have not seen elsewhere.
Frequency data:

NORCAL APP (APP): 33.82 Mhz
NORCAL APP (APP): 133.95 Mhz
ATIS (ATIS): 125.9 Mhz
CTAF (CTAF): 119 Mhz
NORCAL DEP (DEP): 135.65 Mhz
GND (GND): 121.6 Mhz
TWR (TWR): 119 Mhz
UNICOM (UNIC): 122.95 Mhz

when one goes to "search" it pulls all the nearest airports, one simply hits an airport and all freq info comes up, works great when flying into an area without knowledge of the app freq.

IIRC from a decade or more ago, when I worked with aviation databases, the approach/departure frequencies were part of the airport record (we used the ARINC databases, and those were records which went along with each airport's set of records).

I don't recall how we got center frequencies, and we may not have, but certainly were able to list "Nearest" frequencies.

It's a nice feature, and even if it's not 100% accurate, the ability to try the first one or two on a list until you reach someone with an enroute request is pretty valuable.

Granted, I can get it from my 430W, but I'd second a motion to add these to the feature list in a future release.

Approach and Departure frequencies are already in our database and on SkyView.

It's the center frequencies related to an airport we don't have.

Oh, right...because they're not part of the airport records (unless that's who you'd contact upon departure).

Now that you mention it, I don't recall if we had ARTCC "nearest" frequencies or not, it's been so long, but I'm guessing not.

Ah, well. A good reason to carry those Jepp en route charts a while longer, I guess LOL!

I checked the MAP/INFO and I dont see approach and Departure frequencies. Wouldn't it be under COMM?
Maybe it's my understanding of what App/Dep is versus center??

They're shown on airport pages that have apr/dep frequencies associated with them in the database, which are generally only bigger airports.

Here's some screen shots from KPHX listing approach and departure frequencies. These are what I know we have. This us using the free FAA data from our website. This is not a promise that every airport in the USA has them listed, and you'd have to ask the FAA how they choose to put them in the database or not.
