Saw something about this before, cant find it so will post this.
On long cross country, one am, started up plane and first time ever.... skyview showed red x over PFD and red X over EMS, gps all was perfect. Powered down, no response...all buttons frozen... Sat there for 5 minutes trying all and nothing. Was stuck on ramp in Exuma prepped to cross big water with dead skyview....that was stressful!
Anyway, shut down and about 5 later, restarted and all was perfect, 10 hours of flying back to Canada not a single issue. 750 hours on skyview with no trouble, love it...but this sure got my attention.
If i have a bug or issue any better thing to do then reboot?
I didnt have the stick to download and have knocked off 10 hours since, busting it home and no issues but that will surely have overwritten the event so logs wont show. Any tips, tricks, diagnostics, or thinks i should know if there is even a repeat. Could not have happened at a worse time..2 countries from home and before bit water crossing. Sure got my attention. Thanks

What version of SkyView are you running? Did you get any system event messages? There aren't any known bugs that cause this sort of behavior.

I have the latest version of skyview, just updated a week before run to the islands. The screen locked.....no buttons or anything, not even the key/power supply would shut it down. I could not even get the system to do the basic type shut down where it asks if i want to stay on or power off...just frozen. I was set to go on an international flight and kind of caught off guard....and could not recall the reboot buttons to reboot but pushed the whole row and someone got it to reboot and no issue since in over 10 hours. Where would i look for a code, or is there anywhere that would have been captured that i can download and send to you that would not have been overwritten by now? Let me know. Thanks.

It's likely been too long for the detailed data logs, but if it happens again, here's how to grab it after the flight: dynon.aero/reportlog

Regardless, we'd like to learn more about your experience directly. Can you reach out to our support team at 425-402-0433 or via support at dynonavionics dot com?
