I have been trying to sort out settings for the FT60 transducers on my Rotax 914 engined Europa.

Pin outs have been done but I can only get one transducer to show on the setup page, so can not set K factors for both of them.

Can you help please as fuel usage is ridiculous - it just shows the flow rate and does not subtract the return from the flow to give me a reading.

regards

Export your settings, edit the one that has "ems" in the file name", then find the line that starts with ff_policy, then change it to

ff_policy=DIFF

Then save the file, then load just that one file into SkyView. Then reboot. Then you should see two FF k factors that you can change. It subtracts one from the other.

Though, on second thought, it should ship in that configuration already. Let us know if the above helps.

One more thing to try - update your EMS sensor file (not the config file), if you haven't (available on the SkyView download page) already, to the latest available. There was an addition, a few versions ago, that added support for dual fuel flow.

Hi Jake,

What do you mean?

Sorry Trev, should have been more specific - just thought you may not have orientated the 'cube' correctly ie arrow on it facing the direction of return flow to tank. ;)

Thanks Jake.

I'm over the airfield today and will check that the debug is showing numbers scrolling for each tranducer and will check the direction of the flow through the return cube.

Thanks for your help

Will this affect the sensors that are already in use and shown on the screen when flying as I would hate to have to do them all again?

Hi Jake,

Checked the cube today, it's plumbed up in the right direction; I then debugged all my sensors, turned on the magneto switch, fuel pump working fine, scrolling numbers on the flow to the pressure regulator but nothing on the tank return transducer!

When I built the aircraft and finished it 3 years ago, I had fitted an Electronics International fuel computer (expensive bit of kit too) but never got it running correctly. Different differential modules were sent to me 4 times from Electronics International because they felt they were the weak link. All the computer ever showed me was the flow rate to the pressure regulator, but never the return to the tank. The transducers should have been my first port of call as I was getting exactly the same readings on the Skyview and they were the only part of the original installation and showed the same fault condition.

New cube ordered today, will be with me tomorrow and will be on the aircraft Saturday or Sunday. Will let you know how I get on. Pin mapping is OK one cube on pin 14 and the other on 19.

regards

Trev - the sensor file won't affect any of your limit settings, and shouldn't affect your pin mapping. But if anything "broke", it would be in the pin mapping - not the whole thing, but maybe a single sensor, but maybe none at all . Just take a settings backup before you do anything and you can get back to where you were if everything goes wrong.

Hi Guys,

Got a new FT60, fitted it and it works a treat. I finally have a fuel computer and it's about right too on 68000. The cube had a burn mark on the underside, don't know how it got there, but I suspect the original avionics shop did the damage.

best regards
