Fuel Flow Data Averaging

I was wondering if it would be possible to incorporate some sort of averaging software on the carbureted fuel flow readings on the display. In steady state cruise flight, the fuel flow varies about one gallon/ hour as the float opens and closes the needle and seat. It is mainly a display thing since the fuel computer readings on fuel burned are really close.

Some sensors are adjustable (by mucking with the sensor file that is exportable from SkyView via a settings backup), but, unfortunately, fuel flow isn't one of them. What's the frequency of the variation?

Here is a 15 minute graph of steady state cruise flight.  It's more of an issue reading fuel flow numbers off of the screen during flight.  You have a hard time trying to lean to a particular fuel flow with this variation. It's not an accuracy issue since the fuel computer numbers are right on. It's not an issue on a fuel injected engine.

So that's looking like a 5hz swing if I'm looking at that right...

There are, incidentally, mechanical fuel pulsation dampeners that exist, by the way: http://www.matronics.com/fuelchec/damper.html

I'll put this on the list of software things to look into, but sometimes finding the right solution for damping values that cover all installs is non-trivial (and having a "knob" isn't always the right supportable solution either).
