fuel flow transducer wiring

I was hooking up the sense wire from the fuel sender to the Dsub 37 connector and noticed that there were pin outs for the ground and 12 vdc connections on the sender. I have a 12 volt bus and ground bus on my firewall(pusher airplane) and supplied the ground and 12vdc to the sender from there instead of the pin outs on the dsub connector. Will that be OK?

The 12V out from the EMS is a highly regulated 12V, not the 10-15V that the "12V" in an airplane is. So it's not the same thing. But it might not matter.

I assume you're using a capacitive sender, since most resistive senders don't need power. If this is true, then you're probably OK. If you're using some sort of resistive sender, then you'll need the regulated 12V from the EMS.

I'm using the Dynon fuel flow transducer that is referenced in the manual.

Does this one need reg 12vdc ?

Sorry. I assumed we were talking about fuel level, not fuel flow.

The fuel flow transducer should be hooked to our 12V power, not the main power in the plane.
