Fuel Level Calibration on at D-180

After starting with two empty 9 gallon tanks on our Super Hornet sport plane, we tried the fuel level calibration feature on the D-180. After adding fuel in 1 gallon increments, the D-180 gave me a message that it did not see a change from the level sensor. We added several more gallons, and also tried the opposite tank - all the the same results.

We ended the attempt, but noticed the calibration routine presented data at the last step, which did indeed show a level change from the sensor. My question is: Should I have ignored that message about not seeing a change in from the level senor? It did ask the question - did you really added 1 gallon YES/NO? That seemed a bit odd to me.

Thanks everyone!

Lots of fuel tanks are shaped such that they don't move the float at the beginning or end of the tank. We can deal with this, but we tell you we didn't see any motion in the float. Did you get the message that no movement was seen for every 1 gallon increment, or just on some of them?

Also, you can see a number on the screen as you do the calibration. This is the raw value from the sensor. Was it changing as you added fuel? If it wasn't, then I'd probably look into the wiring and make sure that everything there is fine.
