Fuel Pressure Sender

Hi All,
I'm installing a Jabiru 3300 in my 601XL and I'm using a Dynon EFIS and Jab 3300 kit purchased from Aircraft Spruce.

The fuel pressure sender provided with the kit is a 0-30 PSI sender from VDO. On the 3300 we should only see fuel pressures no greater than 3 PSI. So the sensor provided is at the very bottom of its range and were only using 10% of its available range. I would like to replace the sensor with something more suited to the range I'm interested in but the Dynon doesn't support any other sensor.

How about it guys??? Could you possibly add support for another sensor say in the 0-5 or perhaps 0-10 PSI range??

I know that there are many others who aren't driving around behind big fuel injected engines that see the greater pressures so I think the usefulness for this change is there

I know you guys are swamped all the time with changes so I understand if this just aint gonna happen, but its worth a shot

What other fuel pressure sensor have you found? The one you have is (from what I have seen) the lowest pressure range that VDO offers. It is also the one used on carburated Lycomings that also have low pressure requirements. I'm not interested in replacing mine, it displays the pressure down to a fraction of a pound and I can set the Dynon up to to give me an alarm if the pressure wasn't within a very small range.

If I had the same situation as you, I would configure the EMS to display a range of about 0 to 5 pounds. It's pretty sensitive to changes even in that range. I looked at my data log tonight and the highest pressure recorded was only 7.375 and that appears to be when the boost pump is on. Yes, it displays tenths of pounds but it records with that accuracy.

I bet once you get it installed and the EMS configured the way you like it, it will provide more than enough information than you need to monitor the Jab.

Good afternoon,
I posted a question in the sections EMS install and EMS discussion regarding a problem with the pressure sensor and Jabiru 2200. It doesn't work correctly. I hope Dynon support or somebody other will explain to me what to do with this sensor. Till now I heard nobody. If somebody is interested in this matter, please read my post on EMS section, I tested the sensor in the low pressure scale with the bad results reported.
Thanks for a help.

We don't have current plans to introduce any new pressure transducers - largely because we haven't seen many problems at all with the ones we currently offer.
