I'm wondering why the oil pressure and fuel pressure transducers have different connections posts. Why does the fuel pressure transducer have two tabs? It is grounded thru the pressure line and then either of the two tabs can be used for connection to the EMS - is that it?

As I nderstand it , the low pressure types (eg Carby) have 2 tabs and anyone is ok for ground, other tab to dynon. ;)

Can other than resistance type fuel pressure sensors be used with the Dynon FlightDEK-D180? The resistance type senor that I have is not very accurate. I was wondering if a pressure transducers that puts out a current or voltage could be used instead. Some higher quality transducers put out 4 to 20 milliamps or 0 to 100 millivolts.
Also, does anyone know if the ATM-2245 fuel pressure senor is the resistance type and if it can be used with the D-180?
Thanks, Joe

Only sensors the D180 specifically knows about can be used, and currently there are no solid state fuel pressure senders it supports.

We are in the process of testing a lower pressure fuel pressure sender, so we may have a solution for you shortly.

This would be a Godsend!!!! Please let me know if you need a beta tester for this!!!

I have a PiperSport. First had low fuel pressure warning at the top of climb, but then started happening in all phases of flight. Turning on electrical fuel pum does not change indication. Mechanical engine driven pump working normally at all rpm settings. Is this a bad sensor problem?

Fuel Pressure Sensor 912 & Skyview

OK group We have a Sky view and are getting ready to hook into the fuel system with the sensor. I was wondering how if we install the rotax suggest return to the fuel tank does the system know how much fuel is being burned if some goes back to the tank on the return?
In most of the planes I have viewed it has a return line that goes back to the left tank on High wings. Do we not install the return and all is good or install the return and the computer know by fuel pressure not flow how much fuel to give us the Distance to empty (DTE) like on a car? Oh and where does the sensor go in the fuel feed from the tank or after the engine driven pump on the way to the carbs?

Hi Guys,

I have a Europa with a Rotax 914.

I have two FT60's one on the flow to the pressure regulator, and one on the return from the regulator to the tank.

It works beautifully and is absolutely accurate straight out of the box.

regards

Trev :D
