fuel pressure variation

I've been having some very high fuel pressure indications on the EMS120 varying between 30# to 58# at times all while the boost pump is off. I checked with the manufacturer of the engine driven fuel pump who looked up the records when the pump was tested and it was producing 30# when it left the factory.

I don't think the engine driven pump is capable of those type of variations and I'm thinking the the EMS remote sending unit is bad. Any suggestions on how to check the operation of the unit?

Thanks

People sometimes put an analog gauge in parallel if they can find one to borrow. The new solid-state Kavlico pressure sensors that we now carry (EMSKITs have been shipping with them for just a little while now) do tend to be less prone to mechanical wear and tear like the older electromechanical ones are.
