G296 HS34 D180 connection

i wirring the g296 with garmin blue port 1 out to 2 on male d25
and yellow port 1 in to 15 on d25 cable to the HS34
but the hsi is not working with gps" waiting for gps fix"
d180 connect to HS34 via dsab and working
anyone could have info on the connection

g296 VERSION 4.60 :com1=Aviation in/ NMEA&VHF ///baud 9600
D180 version 4.0.0  :serial=inpout NMEA /output none/ baud 9600
H.S.34 version ???

A few things to check:

Did you configure DSAB? If you did, confirm the HS34 being recognized under the SETUP>DSAB>STATUS menu.

If it's there, make sure you have serial port 2 set up for NMEA input under SETUP>HSI. You DO NOT want the EFIS or EMS local serial ports set up.

the dsab is configure and well see by the d180 and the HS34
I upgrade the HS34 and the D180
the hsi just work with the g296 for a day and stop
i check all the welding and wire, evreything look good
and still have "WAITING FOR GPS FIX" :'(

Are you saying this configuration once worked, and now it doesn't? Have you changed ANYTHING between the time that it did work and when it didn't? If not, it's either wiring or a fault in one of the units.

A couple more things to check:

The 296 does need to share ground with the HS34. If you have the 296 hooked up to ship's power, this won't be an issue.

Also, the 296 does need to have an actual satellite lock before it brings anything up on the HSI.

i try in my hangar in simulator mode..........
outside it's perfect

Don't feel bad - you aren't the first to discover that Garmin's simulator mode does not output on the serial line.

This is undoubtedly a safety feature, as someone could accidentally enter simulator mode and think they are receiving real flight data...
