If I understand correctly, the only current method to connect nav data from a G430W is through a serial interface, correct?  Here's a million dollar question  ;)....any idea when the ARINC adapter will be available?  The lack of AP and HSI for Skyview is almost a show stopper for me, but I really think you'll have this out very soon.  The ARINC adapter is needed very soon after the AP/HSI IMO.  Thanks

They have promised a release road map by the end of January.

The AP should come very soon - the code base is the same as for the legacy units, and so I would expect the HSI + AP to roll out together soon. The ARINC interface will be different hardware, so that may be a bit later.

We'll have it on Tuesday. Not saying which Tuesday ;)

Seriously, we are working on the HSI, the AP, and the map. The ARINC hardware is in process as well. But until we have a soild, working HSI out there, we probably won't be doing much of the ARINC software.

In other words, it's hard to give a date. We do want it ASAP after the HSI, and that is our current* business plan.

*Plans change.

Thanks for the responses.  OK, so from what I am hearing (and FWIW my wife tells me I'm deaf  ;)), once the AP and HSI become functional, I should be able to use the 430 serial out to pick up GS/LOC and GPS to feed to the Skyview/AP, correct?  GPSS and other niceties from ARINC would be nice, but until that happens I still need a way to feed 430 data to the system.  Serial would do this, correct? (just like an SL30 feeds GS/LOC to the HS34 in legacy units)

With serial, the HSI and AP can do lateral functions from the 430 GPS. It can fly to a waypoint or flight plan.

You cannot get any GPS vertical nav, nor any VOR/ILS data over serial. The 430 just doesn't send it out. All you can get from the 430 over serial is the GPS position and the GPS CDI (lateral only).

Thanks.  How about GS/LOC from serial from an SL30 on Skyview?  I am using one with my D-100 and get lateral and vertical guidance on the HSI (lateral only using the AP).  Also, I have another post asking about network redundancy.  Any info on that would be helpful.  Thanks

Well Tuesday has come and gone.  ANY idea when the roadmap will be released?  I am in the midst of planning a new panel which will remove Dynon legacy components.  I REALLY want to believe in Skyview, but without an APPROXIMATE timetable of feature release dates I cannot commit.  I am actively looking at brand A and brand G, but would go with Skyview if I get more information SOON.  I think there are a lot of people in my situation - either planning a replacement panel or a brand new one, and we all need information.

SL-30 is a special case, and most vendors (including Dynon) can "read" the SL-30 serial VOR/LOC signals.  Don't know about Glide Slope - check the installation manual.

My legacy Dynon installation displays SL30 GS/LOC/VOR info just fine.

Still waiting on Dynon's Skyview roadmap. This should not be that difficult to produce. I don't think anyone is expecting exact dates, but rather a best guess ballpark estimate. For example if the HSI/AP is expected in a month or so, that's all I need to know. Ditto if the ARINC converter is say 6 months off. I can make decisions based on APPROXIMATE times.....I don't need "we'll start shipping the ARINC converter June 14th". Like I said, this should not be that difficult.
