Hello,

just building my panel and I have a question regarding GPS.

Im aware according to the manuals that when I connect a GPS to a system with EMS 120 and D100 that I should connect the GPS to pin 19 of the EMS 120. My question is,

First will the GPS info get transfer through DSAB to the D100 for use with autopilot nav? If I’ve connected the Garmin aera 760 as the “system GPS” do I still need to connect the dynon 251 GPS or would this be redundancy that isn’t required?

Any help would be appreciate.

thank you

Will

Yep, the nav info comes through DSAB. You'll only need the 1 GPS source, no need to connect a second.

I have a similar question. I think I have it right but for the sake of asking a dumb question.
area 760 gps connecting to a D100 for autopilot to operate on nav/track.
According to what I have read I think I need the Blue wire from pin 6 ( TX1)out of gps and that is to be connected to pin3(RX) on the 9 pin serial data connection?
Would someone be able to confirm this?
Thanks Mark

I have no personal experience with the 760 or D100, but that's what the documentation seems to indicate. Just remember that pin can't be connected when you're loading firmware into the D100.

I have 760 and efis+ems combo, it works well... if you have efis+ems you need to connect 760 serial port to ems device...

I sent the SL30 to the D100 and the 760 to the D120. D100 receives the D120's GPS data via serial bus.

Install Manual says:

"If you have a GPS and an SL30, connect the GPS to pin 19 on the EMS DB37 connector. Connect the SL30 to pin 22 on the EFIS DB25 connector. This will allow you to flip between GPS and SL30 inputs. You can use either the SL30 or GPS as the NAV source on the EFIS product."
