Do any of you have a Garmin Aera installed and hooked up to your Dynon systems? Looking at the documentation, it looks like it's missing one of the critical NMEA sentences (GPRMB) for the HSI to work (on SkyView, you wouldn't know this since HSI comes out end of April), but we haven't had any complaints from the field yet. Any reports would be appreciated!

Huh????

From apendix D, page 145 of the manual:

NMEA Sentence Output:
• Normal Mode: GPRMB, GPRMC, GPGGA, GPGSA, GPGSV, GPGLL, GPBWC,
GPVTG, GPXTE, GPBOD, GPRTE, GPWPL, GPAPB, PGRME, PGRMZ, PGRMM,
and PGRMH.

We were looking at page 143, which does not list RMB at all. So there is still some confusion. We'd be surprised if it isn't there but would like to be sure.

The 695/696 manuals also says the same thing...

That is the approved list for the 3.01 version of NMEA I think. From what I understand, the prior versions are supported or 3.01 is backwards compatible....along with their sentences.

I can confirm that the AERA 510 works fine with the Legendary products.  It drives the HSI just fine and the AP works great with it.  I have over 3.5 hrs on the AP with the AERA so far and it has never given me the "Nav Source Lost" error that others have reported with the X96.  I am using 5.3.
The VNAV feature also works just as it did with the X96 series.

Now if you would just put me on the beta test team, I would really be able to help you guys make Dynon better!!!!
