I have the EMS D10 and EFIS D10A (gps only, no SL30) and have the DSAB connections made. I bought the Garmin power data cable for the 396. I understand that I need to put the trasmit in wire in pin 19 on the EMS 37 pin connector. The cable has several wires.

Labeled as follows

Blue wire: port 1 out
white: Alarm
orange: voice -
violet: port 2 out
yellow: port 1 in
brown: voice +
green: port 2 in
black: ground
red: power

Which of these is the correct one to put into pin 19? I assume that the voice and alram wires won't be used.

I think you got the 296 cable. The 396 has only one data port.

In either case, it's the blue data out wire you want to hook to the Dynon gear.

The 196, 296, 396 and 496 all use the same cable. However, the 2nd RS232 port (violet and green wires) is not used on the 396 and 496. That serial connection was redirected to the XM reciever.

Additionally, the "voice" connections (orange and brown) are unused as well with the 396/496. All audio outputs for the 396/496 are on the stereo connection.

Hope this clears it up.
