I have a friend who just received a pitch servo for a plane he is building. His plane is an RV6 so the mounting kit is for that aircraft. The bracket which holds the servo would serve well for the roll servo in my Glasair and could even be used for the pitch servo if I added a slight mod. The servo actuation rods would be a different length. My question has to do with the servo bracket. Is the generic mount kit the same as the servo bracket which comes with the RV6 pitch servo? Are rod ends available for larger hardware if needed?

The generic mounting kit does not come with any brackets - they're left for you to fabricate if you go that route. The generic kit does come with all the bits and pieces that you need to connect the servo to the included pushrod, though, and it also has the other rod end and an assortment of fasteners to attach it to something.

Take a look at the PDFs at docs.dynonavionics.com. There are detailed breakdowns of the included parts in each mounting kit.
