Glitch in Setting the Fuel Level (Keeps Reverting)

I think there may be a glitch in the EMS software.  I have a single fuel tank with Red Cube flow sensor but no fuel level probe (such as a capacitance or float style probe).  After refueling I turn on the skyview, adjust the fuel level manually, and then power off all the avionics using the master switch.  The next time I power on the skyview the fuel level has reverted back to the previous value, not the recently-reset full value.

After setting the new value, I'm backing out to the main menu, and the display shows the right value until I power the unit down (usually in just a few seconds, though).

It seems like the skyview needs some time to "save" the new value, or needs the engine running, or a fuel flow reading, or something?  This might be a good fix to work into the next update.

This is by design, and has always been in SkyView.

Solid State Flash memory like the stuff used in SkyView has a limited lifetime of a certian number of writes. If we wrote every single time something changed, we'd be writing at least 5 times a second (we save your last GPS position). This would wear out the flash memory pretty quickly.

So, we have some logic to save at smart times. We save every few minutes no matter what, we save when you exit the setup menu, we save when the engine gets shut off, and we save when we know we are going to get powered down.

If you have a backup battery, we save before we shut down every time. If you don't have a backup battery, we have no idea you are going to turn us off, so we can't save as we shut down. In this case, we do save if you hold button 1 to shut down, since that is a "request" to turn off, but not if you just click the master off.

So, in your case, either power SkyView off with button 1 before turning off the master, or get a backup battery.
