I am interested in how the GNS 430W works with Skyview.

First what will the Skyview display from the 430. My assumptions are it will display Localizer / VOR / GPS CDI deflection and glideslope. Anything else depicted from the 430 or any other functions available? Is this in the HSI display only or are there other ways to display? What about flags or annunciation? What about depicting GPS course and VOR course at the same time?

Second, what connections are required and where are the connections in the Skyview system, ie engine module, screen, other interface.

Third, will there be any capability for sending info to the 430 such as radio frequencies.

To sum it up, I am interested in know all I can about the interface of the 430 to Skyview (function and installation). If you already have an informational page on this, please provide a link.

At release, the SkyView will not have an HSI or an ARINC-429 converter, so there will not be much connectivity to the 430.

Once we have the ARINC-429 converter, then you will have a full HSI with glideslope. I can't answer what other methods we will have to display since we don't have them yet. We do expect to be able to do annunciation from the 430 as well.

I don't think the 430 has any way to accept frequencies from the outside world, so I don't think we can send them to it. But if it does, we hope to support that as well once we have a highly functional moving map.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't he at least be able to connect the 430 using the serial lines for course information like in the Gen1 products?

Once we have an HSI, you can use the serial from the 430 to get CDI from the GPS only. But no VOR, ILS, glideslope, or GPS vertical nav.

The ARINC-429 converter that will come later after release - is this a hardware module, or a software patch?

Also - any plans (I know, I know - "someday" - just askin...) to offer a nav/comm radio module as an add-on to the Skyview?

It'll be an external hardware module, plus of course the software update on the system to support it.
