Go around dedicated button

HI

I asked to be installed a dedicated GO AROUND HOTAS button in my new Blackshape aircraft in the believend that this would arm the GA logic for the Flight Director, wich is the way it works in all the previous aircraft I have flown.

On the other hand I have sadly fount that this function only works with AP ON to command initial pitch up attitude but it is useless if AP is OFF.

I do not fully understand the logics behind this partial functionality but I wonder if somehow the use of the GA button could also be implemented for the FD.

Could this be corrected in future software versions?

Thank you

The GO AROUND function in SkyView's autopilot is intended to assist the pilot in configuring the aircraft for immediate climb in preparation for executing the IFR Missed Approach procedure.

The steps necesssary to reconfigure the IFR navigation source in the aircraft are completely external to the SkyView system. The TSOs do not permit an IFR GPS navigator to be reconfigured by an external device such as a non-TSO'd EFIS system. Thus there is no short-cut such as you are asking for.

Sorry but I am afraid I do not completely understand the logics behind the GA button function at this point and Dynon policy.

I do understand the the GA function will send active commands to the A/P (executive action) to fly the airplane, but that no GA logic could be displayed on the PHD (informative but no executive action)?

Then seems that GA actions could not be decoupled from an active A/P, so if the pilot flies the aircraft manually, then he/she can not have the information of what the A/P would do if connected?
Sorry but that makes no sense to me.

At least in Airbus and MD80s the logic behind GA button is:

1) connects F/D if it was disconnected
2) F/D commands G/A pitch until another mode is selected.
3) F/D commands RWY track/hdg until another mode is selected.

This is what I am asking, to have F/D information even if A/P is off.
Nothing to do with IFR reconfiguration of navigation sources. It could be as simple as commands for 20 deg pitch up and wings level, displayed via F/D, with no relation with any navigation GA procedure, until a NAV button is pressed.

Again please consider this functionality for next versions of the software.

Dynon Support will be along shortly to correct me if I am wrong but I think I can help. You can get the flight director to show the go around without the autopilot engaged. The catch here is that the F/D must already be on. In order to get the NOSE UP button on the Skyview display to change to go around labeling and function, the aircraft must be tracking the vertical portion of an approach with VNAV mode active. As such, the F/D must already be on. The A/P need not be. You may hand fly the approach and go around with flight director guidance. As the go around function does not become available until the flight director mode changes from VNAV armed to VNAV active, I do not believe it may be activated otherwise.

Thank you for you help

I wish Dynon would change all that complication for an ALL-SITUATION G/A mode that would offer guidance in any scenery.
As I said, in big jets at least, the G/A button connects F/D if it was off and offers guidance and/or A/P for initial GoAround.
Dealing with NAV or VNAV is not required at this point, only initial guidance.
That makes sense to me and not the actual functionality.
