My Zodiac XLB is not yet flying, however I would like to test if my GPS (Navilock GPS-mouse, NMEA 4800 baud to Pin 19 EMS-D120) is working and communicating properly.

Is there any way I can see that communication is working?
When is the wind arrow displayed on the EFIS?

Or do I only see that when I am flying the airplane?

Thank you and kind regards, Martin

When everything is hooked up (EFIS DSAB'd to the EMS), you should be able to go to the HSI page on the EFIS and hit HSI source and see some magenta data. One caveat here - it's designed to work with navigators, not just position pucks, and I don't know what NMEA sentence(s) are the triggers for the HSI page to display anything at all. But if you see magenta data, it's likely connected working.

I could test the GPS connection today - the aircraft is for the first time out of my garage and in reception of GPS satellites.

It is as you said: The HSI page shows magenta data (GS, TRK, etc.), so I assume that the GPS is working :).

Thx again and kind regards
Martin
