GPS Installation/Location.

Connector -- What sort of connector is advisable for use with the SV-GPS?  Is it recommended that a connector NOT be used (I was going to use an AMP style connector or is straight solder with a longer service loop connection a better choice -- cut if necessary)?

Location -- I was considering installing GPS UNDER a translucent, plastic, bubble canopy.  It should be materially free of any "metal interference" but I was not sure of Dynon's advice regarding "permanently under plastic".

I've always used a 9 pin Dsub connector, crimp type, works well for me

I do not know your type plane, mine RV7A I mounted my GPS antenna between the seats on the cross part that holds the flap motor. Works great!

I cut 2 access panels between the windscreen and firewall on my RV7. The gps antenna sit just below one of the Fiberglas covers.
