Today my D180 didn't say it lost GPS but instead it miscalculated the track completely wrong. In the attached picture you can see (*1) that the AP suddenly turned left from 049 (*4) to 000 (*1) and remained so until I disconnected the AP and flew manually. In the picture you can also see, that even after minutes, the D180 still "thinks" the actual GPS track would be >080 (*3), while it definitely was 043 (*2) at that time. This remained until I turned off the device and turned it on again.

You now might think that the GPS source might transmit wrong data. But the iPad is connected to the same GPS source as the D180 is. And the track indication on the iPad was absolutely correct all the time (*2).

My GPS source is a PowerFlam, which has two separate serial outputs. One going straight into the D180, the other going to a device called AirConnect, which sends the PowerFlarms GPS packets to the iPad via WiFi (and adds traffic information).

My setup works fine most of the time. In 400h flying with the AP on I have had the problem that the AP turned off indicating it had lost the GPS source 4 times. I've had the problem of the AP suddenly miscalculating the track and turning the AC into another heading/track 2 times. This time it was the most severe deviation. In all of these events I was able to bring it all back to normal operation by power-cycling all devices.

D180 firmware is from Dynon_Support_5_5_0_D6-60_1_1_0.exe
