I started the project with the EMS-D10 and installed it, and then much later chose and began to install the EFIS D100 unit. There are interactions between the two, which are not considered (naturally) before the second unit is used. One of these is Grounding.
I have now grounded both to the same singular aircraft ground to prevent the dreaded "ground loop" which fosters interference.... But then I believe some instructions call for 'joining the two unit grounds'. Would this not then create the Ground Loop? Is this easily avoided either by a precaution or the intrinsic design? Thanks.

We do not generally have ground loop issues with our products. The cases of all of our products are grounded, so when installed in a metal aircraft with a metal panel (as most are), there are already multiple ground paths.

I believe that any way you go about grounding the products will not cause you any issues. Generally ground loops are an issue with small signal analog voltages like you see in microphone lines.

The one issue you may be considering is the ground between the engine and the EMS that sometimes causes oil temperature issues. This is not a ground loop issue but a simple resistance issue between the engine and the EMS. It's not interference, it's just that guy Mr. Ohm getting in the way with his laws.
