I love flying!
We are trying to setup the Dual SkyView display in our Pipistrel Virus SW (from kit) with Rotax 912iS. We received sfg and dfg files from Pipisrtel.....but they used metric units. We also downloaded EMS_912_iS_120414_kav.dfg from the Dynon website.
With one of these files, our fuel pressure works, but our electric trim indication doesn't. With the other dfg file loaded, the electric trim indication works, but the fuel pressure doesn't .
We opened each of the dfg files in Microsoft Notepad, hoping to copy electric trim indication setup info from the file in which it works... to the file where it doesn't.
But...the format of the files is quite different. The Pipistrel file has a number of introductory lines where they seem to be assigning some initial values (like last latitude and longitude, or tail number, or units of measurement) before they get to pin assignments and widget info. The Dynon dfg file looks very different. And we can't really figure out which part I need to copy from the one file, to replace the corresponding but non-functioning part of the other file.
I'm going to paste an initial portion of the Pipistrel file below, so you can see what I'm saying, but my main question is this: Is there any documentation of the setup, language, and formatting of the dfg files. There's something posted about making your own sfg files, which discusses the formatting of the entries in those files, but I haven't seen anything like that for dfg files.
I mean, simple things like Valid=1 or Valid=0 . When would you use those? if something wasn't valid, why put it in the dfg file?
It seem to be some sort of programming language...but which one? Where can I find information on how to program...required format? required /permissible commands? etc.
