Just a simple hello to the group at this forum.....I'm glad you're here, as no doubt I'll find valuable answers to questions while soon to install a new D10A into my first airplane, a Pulsar XP taildragger. The aircraft has a RMI microEncoder, but no ADI.....so goodbye RMI and hello Dynon. I'm anxious to fly this EFIS.
However I already see I dropped the ball by not buying the wire harness....kinda need that from reading the manual.
(Anyone have one to sell?)

Does the internal compass work well as advertised? I've gotten a vibe thru various reading that some users say the external compass is a must have.

The usability of the internal magnetic sensors really depends on the magnetic environment of your panel (power and ferrrous metal nearby - ie, other instruments - are bad). If there is enough local magnetic interference in the panel area to obscure Earth's "real" magnetic field, there is simply no way for magnetic sensors to do a good job.

Some find that the internal sensors are very usable, while others find that they are not. Though sales show that a majority of EFIS-D10A customers purchase the EDC-D10A, many of them do so pre-emptively because the calibration procedure for it is easier (refer to our installation guide online for details).
