I have a Flight Data System GD 40 Carbon Monoxide monitor and have for 10 years monitored its output with audio signal and supplied panel light. I now wish to set it up via an empty serial port on my HDX to display on screen. When I followed Dynon's instructions about 3rd party connections, I can't find any any device mentioned ( I can find Radios, gps etc listed) that remotely mentions a Carbon Monoxide monitor.

Can any one help me. The FData System instructions are brief and only mention connecting 2 wires to the EFIS ( which I have done).

thankyou in anticipation. Jeff

So this page:

states that for the Dynon interface, you're using a switched input, NOT the serial line.

The manual:

then explains how to connect to a switched input via the "RLY" line. This just goes to ground and switches an alarm in the EFIS - a simple setup as shown in the Dynon picture in the first link.

This info took ~2.1 minutes to discover on the GD40 web pages.
