Showing 18 amps on the unmodified 100% engine screen of my SV-D700 without running engine. It shows it centered between the green and yellow on the bar. When 912iS is running I am seeing about 33 amps. Pin 23 and 24 wires connected to amps shunt through fuses. Any ideas?

Has it always read this way, or is this new behavior that's changed recently? Do you know what the shunt is ostensibly supposed to be measuring - ie, alternator output (loadmeter) or current flow into/out of the battery (ammeter)?

This airplane hasn't flown yet and the engine has only been run about 15 minutes so I guess I can say it's always been that way. I have followed the directions in the installation manual so it is ostensibly measuring what Dynon expected it to by following those directions for the 912iS installation.

So for amps there are a few ways to hook up the shunt to the electrical system, regardless of the engine type. But regardless, the first test is to disconnect the sensing wires from the shunt and connect them together. That should yield 0 amps. If you still see a non-zero value, then you should check and make sure that the wires are actually going to the pins that you think that they are. In this case, there's either something up with the wiring, or possibly EMS module is damaged. If you do get zero amps when you connect the wires, then there's more likely an issue with the shunt (rare, but not impossible, especially if there's any corrosion). Also, is the shunt one of ours?
