I just updated my Software on the Dynon D10 A and installed my Autopilot unfortunately my OAT (2) gives me a 27 C reading, which I cannot change low enough to get our present temperature of 8 C, the readout on the previous software without the Autopilot was correct,
Any ideas how to fix the problem? Also the compass display his hunting slightly on the ground have not tested it in the air
Thanks

If you only have an EFIS-D10A, you might make sure that the OAT is still set to type "2". That's not something that should ever change on it's own, by the way. You might also check that the EDC-D10A has the same firmware version on it as the EFIS by doing a "detect firmware version" from the support program. You said you had autopilot, which implies that the EDC-D10A was already running the latest (unchanged in a bunch of versions) firmware.

The EDC-D10A was installed 200 4 -5 which included the OAT  set to type "2".with an remote compass, mounted under the right passenger floor board in my Glastar ?
The system worked for over 280 hours perfect.
One month ago I installed the 2 axis autopilot, powered the complete system up, uploaded your new and improved software as per instruction, all worked well and so did the test. The OAT was set to type 2.
After all the tests where successful, and the calibration and network was setup I noticed the reading of the OAT to be 27 C as you know one can only adjust the OAT readout by a couple of decrees + or - so I am not able to change the OAT to the 8 C we presently have in Vancouver B.C.
Perhaps if I need to remove the pin C10 on the remote magnetometer box as per your bulletin Nov 1, 2007?

If your serial number is within the range stated in the service bulletin, it could show a higher than actual OAT when it is very cold out. If you have had the OAT be correct at similar temperatures in the past, this may not be the problem though. Does the OAT actually change with temperature, when you warm it with a lighter, for example?

We have presently 7 C outside temperature; I never had to adjust the OAT over the last 2.5 years since I owned the plane, It was always correct I did heated the outside probe It will not change the temperature it has settled ob 27 C since I installed the new software and installed the Autopilot ?

So the next question is - is the EDC-D10A even functioning as a compass? Wave a magnet around it to find out. Also, are you able to query it using the "detect firmware version" function of the Dynon support program?

The compass is functioning, however it seems to wander a little, I have not tried to use the "detect firmware version" function of the Dynon support program.
The Compass is located on the front floor board between the metal frame of the Glastar, perhaps the Capstan is too close to the Compass ?

The version I have installed is 5.4.0
The autopilot works fine till the Compass starts wandering all over the place I have the feeling the remote compass is too close to the Capstan, ( 12 Inch) I will move it to the back of the pane where there is no metal interference.
The OAT still reads 37 C and doesn’t move and as you know there is a limit to re-adjustment of The OAT , it was indicating the correct temperature before I upgraded to the new software and before I installed the autopilot ?
