High oil pressure

My D120 is showing verrry high oil pressure readings. I replaced the sending unit and all was well for about 2 hrs, and then it jumped back up to high readings. By high I mean 165 psi.
Any thoughts?

Do you have an alternate means of confirming the oil pressure?

Also, I think I remember something about oil pressure location - installing the sensor directly in the engine could cause the sensor to fail? Or maybe that was temp.

Anyway, such pressure is actually possible, so you should try to get an independent reading. Could be bad things going on in the engine.

What version of firmware are you running? In the last couple versions, and open connection is listed as "---", but in earlier version, the number would peg offscale high like you're seeing if the sensor had become disconnected. So it might be that too.

I'm not sure, but I think that it is v 4.???. I will check the next time I'm at the hanger.
Could a pinched oit temp wire have any possable effect on the pressure? Kind of far out there, but that is all I could find wrong.

If pinched=severed, then yes. If just compressed, unlikely, unless you've REALLY thinned out the conductor inside the insulation.
