How do you rotate the CDI needle on the D100 when you do not have an HS34 installed?

What is the navigation source? If it is a GPS, the course is set by the GPS's active flight plan and you can't change it on the Dynon. If you put the GPS in OBS mode, you can change the course on the GPS itself.

If it is a NAV radio, get into the menu under the HSI and press the COURSE button. This is how you change the course for a VOR and LOC.

If your NAV source is an SL30, the SL30 won't allow you to change the course if there is an LOC frequency tuned.

OK, i'll go back out to the hangar tomorrow and look in the D100 for a course button. I did not see it today. I have a Val Nav 2000 hooked to the D100.

I was parked inside a closed hangar, so maybe the D100 would not show a CDI needle (and the course button) because the nav radio couldn't receive a signal.

The Dynon HSI needles are designed to go away when the signal is not present or unreliable.

If there is no signal, most likely the course button won't show up under the HSI.
