HS-34 firmware upload problem

I have a D-100, D-120 and an HS-34 and have been able to upload the firmware version 5.1.1 to both the D-1-- and D-120 but have been unsuccessful with the HS-34.

I have checked the wiring for the serial connection, turned off the other Dynon devices and even pulled my radios and audio panel from the instrument panel. When I try to upload all I get is 'searching for comm port' followed a few minutes later by and unsuccessful communication notice.

Any ideas.

Make sure the EFIS is turned off.

Re-check continuity of the wires from the computer to the HS-34.

It should work.

That means it's not seeing the serial port at all. In many cases, we do find that serial port mis-wiring is the culprit. Note that the HS34 has two of them. Only serial port 1 - which is pins 1, 14, and 17 (ground) on the Male DB25 on the HS34 (this is the top connector) can connect to the PC. If you're convinced you're wired up OK, give tech support a call at 425-402-0433 to have the unit looked at here.
