I am wiring my SV-Intercom-2S and my HS34 along with my FlightDEK-D180 with AOA.  The HS34 installation shows a voice output at pin number 25 and the FlightDEK-D180 shows an AOA Alert Audio Output at pin number 18 of the DB25 connector.  Page 4-10 tells me that I should only connect the audio output from the HS34 with a variable resistor.
My question is, with the Dynon intercom, do I still need to connect an external variable resistor (Radio Shack P/N 271-1715) prior to the intercom or can I connect the audio output of the HS34 directly to either pin 17 or pin 4 of the SV-Intercom-2S?  The intercom wiring diagram shows a direct connection.
Will I get AOA alert audio with only the HS34 audio out connected?

The variable resistor is still appropriate to use. Neither The HS34 or the D180 has any internal volume controls, and the intercom doesn't have any per-channel leveling capability, so this is a way to balance different inputs' volume.

Yes, you only need connect only the audio output from the HS34 when you have that installed.
