Hi

I'm using a D100 with HS34 as my backup unit.
I have wired the G430 as per the manual. (ARINC input only, no output to the 430) However now that I have used both ARINC inputs, is it possible to connect the GNC255?
Also just to add to it, the 255 it is also connected to my G3x system via the rs232 so it can be remotely controlled, so the CDI indicator type is set to serial and the IO mode to NMEA, so will the HS34 work if it gets the input on the RS232 as NMEA? Or is it possible to comnect via the analog connections and using this as NAv2?

Thanks

Peter

The analog connections on the HS34 aren't supported due to a long history of incompatibility, but they're not entirely disabled and so you could experiment with that. At first glance, I thought that hooking up the GNC's serial transmit to one of the HS34's serial receives might work, but looking at the formats and your configuration, I don't think it will. The NMEA input that the HS34 supports is geared to GPS inputs, while the GNC's NMEA input is made of of Garmin proprietary sentences. If you used one of the two Aviation formats I think you'd have a chance at compatibility over serial, but that would break your other connection to your EFIS. So I think the end answer here is that you probably won't be able to pull that signal over.
