I want to tie my Garmin 400W to my HS34. I am failing to get the D100 HSI to show the 400W CDI. Its keeps saying waiting on GPS. So, will you confirm I have the 400W and HS34 configured properly? Below is what I plan to put in the 400W:

Main AIRNC 429 Config" page
In 1 : High | EFIS / Airdata
In 2 : Unused by the HS34, configure as needed for other equipment
Out : High | GAMA 429
SDI : Common
VNAV : Enable Labels

Here is what I plan to enter in the HS34 HSI configure page:

ARINC-429 Page:
Input1: GAMA GPS
Input2: None
Speed: HIGH
Output Data: ON
Output Speed: High

That looks right. On the HSI page, do you see ANYTHING other than the waiting for GPS fix? When you say "plan to enter" in the HS34 configuration page - have you already done it? If not, first step is to make sure the HS34 is configured via DSAB and that it's connected to the HS34. One quick thing that will help you determine this: does the HS34's NAVSRC buttons work and cycle the GPS light on and off?

This setup isn't sat in a metal hangar, is it?

It could wait forever for a GPS fix if it's stuck inside a Faraday cage!

I can't get a GPS fix in my attic because the insulation foam has a foil film on it.

Just though I'd throw that one in... :D

My D100/HS34 has been installed for 3-4 years and working good. I have had an IFLY and SL30 connected for years too, and they are working as they should.

I have added the 400W (not 420, 430, etc...if it matters) and the GPS button lights up when it goes through "gps 1" (the 400W), but its says waiting on fix. I have flown several times and it stays on "waiting for fix." No other GPS info comes up on the HSI (the VOR pointers do show on the HSI)

I say "plan to enter" because I have been flying with the 400 and HS34 configured as shown in post #1, with one exception...I have had INPUT2:GAMA NAV.....I plan to switch it to INPUT2:NONE (like what is shown in post #1)
