HS34 install questions

Hello:
I have an HS34 installed and I was wondering what the effect of leaving the serial aviation format GPS connection to the D10A connected after installing the HS34? I seem to have some issues with the HS34 staying powered up and while I'm trouble shooting this I would like to have the fall back CDI display on the D10A directly from my GPS.

The HS34 could be from wiring but I checked over the power wiring last night and did not see any problems. I also checked over the ARINC 429 wiring and found no problems.
Here are all of my HS34 symptoms:
D10A display of nav data from GNS-430 only works with NAV and GPS settings swapped but not consistently.
DSAB network connection failures.
HS34 doesn't power up 20% of the time.

Pressing the buttons on the front of the HS34 sometimes makes it come to life.

Any Ideas?

Thanks
Bill

You definitely do not want a GPS or SL30 connected right to the EFIS after you have the HS34 connected, though it shouldn't cause the HS34 power down issues you're seeing.

We did have the some of the ARINC port settings reversed in the software setup reversed - it's now fixed at http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Garmin_430/530_Wiring (see this link to see the changes)

Also, try turning all of your avionics off, then on, then do a fresh DSAB configuration and see if that changes anything.

Beyond that, something sounds wrong there, but it's hard to say what. Give us a call at 425-402-0433 for further help with this one.
