I have finished wiring the HS34 into my system and have a couple of quick questions:
System has D100, D120, SL30 and 496, I have SL30 serial TX and 496 serial TX connected into the two serial RX inputs on the HS34, I also have the 496 serial TX connected into the SL30 RX input for comms frequency upload. Do I need to also connect the HS34 SL30 serial TX to the SL30 and if so do I just connect the two inputs (HS34 and 496).
Second where is the menu item to select and test the voice outputs from the HS34 that are referenced in the EFIS manual (a menu flowchart would be a useful appendix in the manuals)
Thanks

You'll need to connect the appropriate HS34 Tx to the SL30 Rx input to be able to tune the course on the SL30.

However, the SL30's Rx line can only be connected to one thing at a time. So you'll need to disconnect the 496's direct connection to the SL30.

That's OK, though, because the HS34 should pass that data along when both of the other units are connected to it.

Thanks for the quick reply, so the HS34 will pass the rs232 from the 496 to the sl30 for the comms?
Found the voice menu also on the efis.

Yes, the HS34 should pass frequency data from the 496 over to the SL-30.
