Installed A HS34 today.
When I plug-in the female 25p into the HS34 the total DSAB fails. I found out this happens when pin 14 gets in to the HS34. A/B are connected to A/B of the D100. Also the serial 1 is dead. ( can not connect to the update software )
wiring checked and quadruple checked. I checked the 5Volt output of the HS34 and this works, so the 12V seems to arrive well.

What is the clou? or do I have a faulthy HS34

Hi Jörgen,

Re-check your wiring - you may have done what I did   :-[

When they say "Male" connector, they mean the connector on the HS34 - NOT the connector you connect the wire to.

For your sake, I hope it's really a problem with your unit - it is a pain swapping the connectors!

Hi Bill, thanks for the reply. (unfortunatly!?) I did notice that 'the gender refers to the HS34. I did check the pinning (over and over) including a check with reading spectacles... It just can't believe that the HS34 is DOA. Just hope the Dynon support has the answer.
simptoms with 12 V present are:
- no leds burning on the HS34
- 5V out does deliver 5V
- no rs232 comm1 connection ( software check)
- DSAB B shortens the DSAB bus.

Well, the definitive test on whether or not the HS34 is working at all or not: Connect ONLY power and ground - that is - pins 4 and 17 respectively, to the male (on the HS34) connector. Don't connect DSAB, any other Dynon products, or any GPS or NAV radios.

All the LEDs should light up. If they don't, we'll need to take a look at your unit here.

If they do, please give us a call at 425-402-0433 for some more personal technical support.
