"The HS34 only officially supports ARINC-429 for non-serial input. It technically does have analog resolver hardware inside, but after a rash of incompatibilities, interfacing with it is not longer supported. "So this means my SL30 will not work using the resolver signal from CDEFGH. Where in the world did you get the  A&B Rslv connection from? I have tried your Analog Resolver Conversion Chart  from your forum  . You claimed"The HS34 will work fine with a NARCO MK-12D radio but have a bit of a documentation error, and yor pins aren't labeled accoring to industry convention."Your support is BAD on ARINC 407 for  Analog  inputs to your PRODUCTS. So this means your EFIS system will NOT work with 98% of the NAV radios on the market .After many Hours wasted ,your SUPPORT could have said it was built for GARMIN radio ONLY. Can you fix your PROBLEM? If so this would sure make your units very DESIRABLE

I think you've found this older thread. So first, know that the forum reflects what we believe to be true at a specific moment in time. We did initially believe that radios like Narcos and Kings would work with the HS34, but we turned out to be wrong about that.

Here's the full story:

When we designed the HS34 years ago, we intended for it to work with any radio with an analog resolver interface. We tested this capability in house with radios like the SL30 and the Garmin 430 (which it works with, but if you're using an SL30 or Garmin 430, you want to use the serial or digital ARINC 429 interface anyway).

We made an assumption that all radios have the exact same interfaces at an electrical level. This turned out to be wrong.

Most King radios, for example, have a composite output which needs a separate king-provided interface module to work with the "standard" resolver interface that the HS34 supports. The few customers that tried this found that this interface module did not produce compatible outputs. Similarly, Narco radios apparently don't work with the HS34 either.

After this discovery, we decided to survey what the demand actually was for the analog resolver interface compatibility. We realized that it was not very strong, and made the business decision to not support the analog interface on the HS34. It's still in the product, so anybody that wants to experiment is free to. Dynon provides no technical support for it, however.

On the sales side, we try to DISCOURAGE use of the HS34 as a method to connect to older radios via the analog resolver interface due to the lack of confidence that it will end up working with radios through those connections.

Finally, for people that for whatever reason don't end up with the whole story and end up with a product that they discover doesn't work for them, we always offer a full refund for the HS34.

We do apologize for the confusion and the time you spent trying to get the interface to work.

Thank you for your correct reply on the OLDER radios an the analog ARINC problem. It was just let down not be able to use most NAV unit with the HS34. I guess I need to trade in my 8Track and buy a RASPBERRY. I will make sure my new avionics have RS232 or ARINC 429 outputs. Sure will save on wire. NO is the best answer on ARINC ANALOG radios like King,Collins, Narco ,Honeywell, EDIO-AIR . Learn to say GARMIN, and pay the price. DYNON make a Great EFIS and it work better than my 100K units. THANKS
