HS34 Volume

Anyone out there flying with an HS 34 providing audio? Is there any reason not to mount the volume control behind the panel instead of on the panel? I am suspecting that adjustments are not required in flight once an optimum setting is determined.

I am as much concerened with accidental volume changes as I am with having the ability to make changes in flight.

Our general install instructions are to put it behind the panel, adjust it once, and forget it.
