I can't install my GPS 496 on the serial port of the HS34, I have no data on the HSI, I made a test on series ports 1 and 2 without more result. The speed in baud and the wire connection are correct. Have you an experiment for this problem ?

Thank you, Eric

Typically 9600 baud, though both devices are configurable (and need to match). Also, make sure your 496 is set to output NMEA output, and that the correct serial input on the HS34 is set to NMEA too. On the 496, make sure the "data rate" under the advanced NMEA settings is set to "normal". Finally, make sure your 496 and avionics are sharing ground.

Of course, you'll need an actual satellite lock on the GPS before anything shows up.

When you push the NAV source button, what happens?

Pssst - it won't provide data to the HS34 in simulator mode, either, even though it may be hooked up correctly.

Ask several of us how we know...
