ILS info to Skyview - cheap

Looking at buying a SL30 and wondered if there was a less expensive option to get this info to Skyview.

Not until MGL gets their Nav radio out....

Unfortunately the SL30 is the only box that outputs VOR/LOC/ILS data over serial...

A smart person that could make an analog VOR/LOC/ILS to serial SL30 protocol converter would make a mint in the experimental market....getting the analog/discrete inputs converted to the SL30 protocol would be the easy part...the hard part is the resolver interface.

Is the Garmin serial spec available somewhere?

Yes the SL30 serial protocol is in the SL30 installation manual. The SL30 can communicate everything it does over serial, lots more info than just over the analog lines.
